Opis DC++ 0.708:
DC++ to samodzielny klient open source sieci DC alternatywny do Direct Connect, napisany w języku C++. Jest to aplikacja służąca do bezpośredniej wymiany plików między użytkownikami, która korzysta z tak zwanych HUBów, czyli serwerów grupujących dane. Oferuje on więcej opcji i możliwości niż zwykły klient DC.

Umożliwia udostępnianie oraz pobieranie niemal wszystkich dostępnych mediów w dowolnych formatach, np. filmy DivX, XviD, muzyka mp3, pliki graficzne czy też pełne obrazy płyt. Początkujący użytkownicy mogą mieć problemy z instalacją i konfiguracją programu, jako że wymaga ona połączenia z jednym z HUBów i udostępnienia przynajmniej kilku GB swoich treści.

DC++ funkcjonuje na systemach Windows XP 32-bit, Windows Vista 32-bit, Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2003 32-bit, Windows 2000.
