  1. DaVinci Resolve 21.1 Studio umożliwia teraz połączenie z asystentami AI, takimi jak Claude, Claude Code i ChatGPT Codex, aby przyspieszyć i ułatwić montaż wideo.
  2. Asystenci AI w DaVinci Resolve mogą teraz pomagać w analizowaniu projektów, organizowaniu materiałów, tworzeniu montaży, zmianie ustawień, automatyzowaniu powtarzalnych zadań oraz renderowaniu wielu osi czasu jednocześnie.

Prerequisites to use an AI Assistant in DaVinci Resolve

AI assistant integration is only available in DaVinci Resolve Studio 21.1. It is not currently available in the free version. You will also need access to one of the supported AI assistants, such as Claude or ChatGPT Codex.

Once everything is connected, the integration allows the AI assistant to interact with DaVinci Resolve rather than simply provide general editing advice. This means your assistant can perform supported operations in your Resolve environment using natural language instructions. On paper, it sounds pretty damn impressive, but the real-world results are going to be somewhat hit and miss for now.

How to Connect an AI Assistant to DaVinci Resolve

First, make sure you have updated to DaVinci Resolve 21.1. Once you have done that, follow these steps:

  • Launch DaVinci Resolve Studio 21.1.
  • Open the File menu.
  • Select Setup AI Assistants.
  • Follow the connection process for your chosen AI assistant.
  • Wait for DaVinci Resolve to confirm that the connection has been established.

Once you finish the setup process, your AI assistant can interact with DaVinci Resolve through its chat interface.

As we mentioned above, how well it works will ultimately depend on the AI assistant you are using, but the main benefit is that you can describe what you want to do instead of manually carrying out every individual operation. If the feature ends up working as well as it does on paper, it could be a massive time-saving feature.

How to use an AI assistant with DaVinci Resolve

After connecting the assistant, open its chat interface and give it an instruction describing the task you want to perform.

For example, if you have a long video in your Media Pool and want to turn it into a short highlight edit, you could ask the AI assistant to create a three-minute highlight edit from the video. Instead of manually reviewing the footage and building the timeline from scratch, the assistant can handle the initial edit for you.

The assistant can then work with your Resolve project to create the short video.

You can also give it additional instructions after the first task has been completed. For example, you could ask it to remove edits that are shorter than one second and then render the resulting timeline as an H.265 video for review.

What can AI assistants do in DaVinci Resolve?

According to Blackmagic Design, supported operations include:

  • Analysing your project
  • Organizing media
  • Changing project settings
  • Creating edits from source media
  • Performing repetitive project operations
  • Batch rendering timelines
  • Preparing media for review

While some of these things would be amazing if they worked 100% of the time, I wouldn't trust it to pull out all of the best parts of your content for you just yet. There are so many little things an AI might miss that should be included in a project. However, there are plenty of tasks where it could save you a lot of time.
